The German side of us

The Hydrick and Reed families are linked through the marriage of Rowe Ella Hydrick (19 September 1858) and George Byron Reed (8 July 1858 - 17 October 1929).

Rowe Ella Hydrick was married twice before her marriage to George Byron Reed. She tragically lost her first two husbands.

Her first husband was Elliott Morgan Robinson (Unknown – 1877) who she married in 1876. He met with death after being thrown from a horse in 1877, little more than a year after being married. They had one son, Elliott Morgan Robinson, Jr. (11 October 1877 – 10 April 1847).

Her next marriage was to Edward Friday (1854 – 1880). They had one son, Edward Brodie Friday, Sr. (11 November 1880 – 26 December 1948).

Rowe Ella married for the third time to George Byron Reed (8 July 1858 – 17 October 1929). They went on to have nine children to join Rowe Ella’s other two sons in the family. The children born to George Byron and Row Ella were as follows:

            George Byron Reed, Jr. (1884 – 1919)
Charlie Wiley Reed (1886 – 1963)
            Clifford Eugene Wiley (1888 – 1975)
            Julia Odom Reed (1889 – 1982)
            Marion Percival Reed (1892 – 1974)
            Rudolph Hilderbrand Reed (1894 – 1948)
Herbert Hair Reed (1898 – 1981)              Twin to Jacob Hydrick Reed
Jacob Hydrick Reed (1898 – 1982)           Twin to Herbert Hair Reed
James Roland Reed (1902 – 1981)

Following is a history of the Hydrick family compiled by Onan Augustus Hydrick in 1978. The Reed connection starts at Chapter VIII, page 82. There are some really good photos between page 62 and page 63.
